About the Mixed Tennis Competition
Our Monday Night fixtures cater for the average tennis players in our club. The fixtures are played around a very enjoyable evening's tennis.
Men & women players (18+), intermediate to advanced.
7:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday night.
All doubles.
Players ranked within teams by the Monday Night Committee.
Teams of 4 players with 3 players playing each week.
Competitive, but more social and relaxed.
Ideal for those players who can play tennis but have not played for some time and wish to get back into playing.
Teams consist of four players with three players playing every week. Matches consist of 6 sets, each of which is 8 games (two serves each) with short deuce determined by the server serving to the same ranked player. Each player plays 4 sets during the evening. The teams are selected by the Monday night committee from the list of available players at the beginning of each season. Two fixture seasons are held each year with the winner being the first past the post. Trophies are presented on the last fixture night of the season. The competition is relatively relaxed and the atmosphere is very friendly.

Our Thursday Night fixtures cater for the intermediate to the advanced tennis players in our club. The fixtures are played around a very enjoyable evening's tennis and most of the players stay on for a couple of cold refreshments after the matches

These fixtures cater for a wide range of standards.

The fixtures are played on Thursday evenings between 7:00 pm and approximately 10:30 pm. The post-match atmosphere is very friendly, with team mates and opposition players conducting post-mortems of what might-have-been over a few liquid refreshments.

Teams consist of seven doubles players or more of which six play any given match. The players are ranked within teams to make the tennis as even as possible. Each match is played over two courts. Matches consist of 6 sets, each of which is 8 games (two serves each, short deuces) to ensure that matches finish at a predictable time. The teams are relatively self-sustaining in membership terms, but new players can be placed in teams with the help of the fixture coordinator. Two fixture seasons are held each year.

Competitive, but relaxed and friendly
Our Saturday Afternoon fixtures cater for competitive tennis players of above average ability, whether they be teenagers full of youthful exuberance or more mature members who rely to a large degree on patience, guile and cunning.

These Saturday fixtures are played between 1:00 pm and approximately 5:00 pm. Teams consist of five players of which four play on any given Saturday. Matches consist of 8 sets, each of which is 8 games (two serves each). The captains, who are appointed by the RLTA, select their teams from the list of available players at the beginning of each season. Two fixture seasons are held each year.

The competition is relatively relaxed (except around finals time) and the atmosphere is very friendly. It provides a great way to de-stress at the end of a busy week, get some moderate exercise and meet new friends.

The annual RLTA Club Championships are one of the most anticipated tennis competitions of the year. Played annualy, members love to compete for the honour of being club champions!

INTERCLUB TENNIS
Competitive Interclub Tennis for Members
Interclub tennis is a great way to further develop your tennis skills and become involved in tennis throughout the Brisbane region. Interclub tennis is available to RLTA Members who want the extra challenge to play competitors in doubles and singles tennis matches. Player selection to represent our club for interclub tennis tournaments are often decided upon by the RLTA selection committee.
The RLTA is currently involved in several interclub tennis competitions outside of those held at the club.

Wynnum Cup Challenge
Redlands Lawn Tennis Club plays host to Wynnum Tennis Club in a Club Challenge every year. Players to be selected to represent our Clubs will be decided by the RLTA Selection Committee.

Redland Bay Club Challenge
The annual competition for the Rosie Dunn Shield is an inter-club challenge match with our neighbours to the south - Redland Bay Tennis Club. The date for these years interclub challenge is to be confirmed.

Tom Ferguson Shield
The annual competition for the Tom Ferguson Shield is a series of inter-district matches between the Redlands, Beenleigh, Gold Coast and Beaudesert/Jimboomba, usually in August each year. The date for these years shield challenge is to be confirmed.

BRISBANE SENIORS
Over 35 years of age
Brisbane Seniors Tennis (veterans tennis) is very popular in Brisbane for the more serious tennis players over the age of 35 who like to compete in competitions and play tennis against a great mix of players.

Currently the RLTA has two veterans tennis teams entered into the Brisbane Senior Tennis Competition who usually play every 3rd Sunday of the month.
​
These teams are known as the Cleveland Koolcats and the Red Devils and play in the second division.
​
The Brisbane Seniors caters for all standards of play with teams entered into one of 3 divisions. If you don't want to commit to a team or are new to the area, fill in players are always required.
